So here we are…..Newton Aycliff. Our first away date of the year. After 5 hours travelling up from the hometown we arrived. Hungry, cold and a little hyper active! Who ever said being on the road is hard work was right, but its one heck of a laugh!
After being greeted by the hosts (who were amazing) we started to set up. Bringing in our sound system with enough power to give England a small earthquake and our sound engineer who has pushed it to the limit, we were well up for the night ahead.
Set up was quick and easy. No problems so far apart from me being hidden away in what felt like another room!
The night began with the local band giving it large and the crowd giving it even bigger. John (our manager) gave a short and sweet message on sat nav’s and then it was time for us to begin.
We kicked off with something new and one more time. The crowd loved it. They had hardly heard any of our stuff but bounced like they we’re listening to the biggest band in the world. That was great encouragement for us. Halfway through the set we dropped it down for some of the mellow stuff. Nice and chilled before we opened up the thrash. The last 2 songs of the night we’re full and fast. Miracle got everyone going again and just as we began to play the finale, the stage power cut…..I had no idea until people we’re waving at me to stop! What a laugh…. This was the big one. The title of the forth coming album, piercing the darkness. This went down a treat. Everyone got into it and even Harvey started to move!!!! At the end, the crowd just wanted more and more. But we have to tease. We gotta leave you wanting more!
All in all it was a great night. Put on by great hosts and attended by a great crowd. We love you Aycliff.
See you on the road soon
Matt
